BIOGRAPHY

Born in 1983 in Hanoi, Vietnam

2004 : Graduated with Bachelor of Arts from Hanoi College of Fine Arts, specialised in lacquer painting.

 

EXHIBITIONS:

2009: “The Same Colour” in Hanoi

2010: Group exhibition “ 1000th  Anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi” in Hanoi 

2011: Vietnamese & Indian Fine Art exhibition in Hanoi.

2015 : Group exhibition in Hanoi.

2018 : Group exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City 

2020: Group exhibition “Island and Homeland” in Hanoi.

 

For Dzung, lacquer is more than just a medium - it is a patient dialogue with Vietnamese tradition. Since graduating in 2004, she has dedicated herself to the slow, rhythmic process of "sơn mài", finding beauty in the many layers of lacquer and pigment. Her work often reflects her love for the nature, children and rural activities and this represents a life lived in perfect balance with the environment. Using the layered sơn mài technique, these scenes feel like distant, golden memories but it’s still present in Vietnam rural scenes.
