Mac Hoang Thuong was born in 1976 in the northern province of Bac Can. He earned Master Degree from Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art University, where he currently lecturing. 

 

From 2008 - 2014 Thuong participated in annual exhibition by the University's Faculty of Fine Art and fine art exhibitions in Ho Chi Minh City, and several group exhibitions in Vietnam and overseas including Australia, Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Chile since 2003. Thuong's first  solo exhibition was held in 2012 presenting a series of his pencil drawings. Thuong's 2016 solo exhibition "The Slices" was highly regarded. 

 

Thuong received several art awards from his early years as an artist, by Philipmoris Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Museum, HCMC Fine Art Association and HCMC Association and Literature and Art.
